Understanding Emotion
Q: What feels nourishing?
Users described the sun, beach, lotion, a shower. Now what does that look like in form?
It can be described as growth, well balanced, symmetrical, and fluid. Shapes that portray softness and a sense of calm.
Nourishing is the emotional word chosen which’ll dictate the design language of the final watering can
Observational Research
Beginning with concept exploration of watering cans, interview questions were asked to understand how the user feels when viewing the concepts
The participants noted feeling of community, warm, and cozy. Specifically, the participants made comments about the strong base particularly feeling a sense of hearth and protection.
The participants observed this concept’s eco-like design through its terracotta shaped base. They noted feelings of eco, independent, and classy.
The participants made notes of feeling curious, light, and calm when viewing this concept watering can. Analyzing the rounded figure, the participants felt soothed noting the lack of hard edges.
